Partners Needed for Animal & Pet Event
Kentucky Science Center is hosting our annual Dog Day event and we need your help!
This event will take place Saturday, May 15, 2021 and is our first external partner supported event of 2021. This will take place outside in a 160’x 80’ section of our parking lot. In the event of bad weather this will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 22.
While we have not had any external partners onsite as a pandemic precaution, by hosting this event outside (while still enforcing our mask policy) we can more safely encourage community participation.
What is this event? This is one of two outdoor events as part of our Spring into Science campaign. Folding tables, chairs, and pop-up tents are available at all partner stations. We also have ample space for branded trailers, agility courses, or other large pieces. While we call it Dog Days for alliterative fun, this event is designed to inspire people to own pets of all kinds, recognize the amazing organizations in our community that help pets and wildlife, and take a moment to look at the amazing science of animals.
What times are needed? Official event time will synch with when we are busiest: 10:00am-2:00pm.
What is expected of your organization? The hope is to have many partners with live animals that can handle moderate noise and attention. Animals are not required, but all experiences should be designed in a “walk-up” (short and easily repeatable) format. External groups are encouraged to “own” their areas with add-ons such as trade show banners and branded hand-outs. We want our visitors to see your passion for what you do and be inspired to own a pet or learn something new.
What included with volunteering your time, resources, knowledge, and people?
- We will help you organize all logistics while you are here on site
